Of course, Christmas time also means Boxing Day bargains! I note Amazon started their Boxing Day sale on 25 December!! Forgive me Amazon, but that’s Christmas Day!
Use this time of year to look for bargains in charity shops where people donate unwanted gifts. Also it’s a popular time for clear outs before going back to work.
Look for new items wrapped in cellophane, such as: DVDs, CDs, audio books, fiction and non-fiction, language CDs and self-help CDs.
Also look for: new shrink wrapped books, video games, board games, jigsaws and children’s toys.
You will be surprised how many people receive these types of things as presents and just hand them into charity shops without even opening them.
Some other items to look for include DIY tools and kitchenalia, boxed and in good working order, preferably new and unopened.
Also look for unwanted gifts such as perfume – these are often handed in to charity shops after Christmas, still wrapped and often with a designer name attached. These can be sold on eBay and you may be able to make a nice little mark up from them.
The old adage ‘One person’s trash is another’s treasure’ is certainly true.
Happy New Year to you, I hope you have a prosperous 2015!
