OK, I’ll admit it, when Amazon’s Kindle was launched back in 2007 I was slightly sceptical as to whether it would catch on. After all how can a pricey electronic device ever be a better way of reading a book than – well – just a simple book!
I’m glad to have been proved wrong though. And with some experts predicting sales of Kindle this year will reach 12 million by Christmas, and 20 million next year, it’s an opportunity that every digital entrepreneur needs to keep an eye on. Especially as, in their usual share-and-share-alike way, Amazon allow everyone to be, not just their customers, but their suppliers and participate in their success too.
So what’s the latest Kindle opportunity you need to know about?
You see, previous Kindle opportunities have mainly involved publishing non-fiction titles. In particular, lifting copyright free material from the public domain and selling it to Kindle users. That worked for some entrepreneurs in the past, but it’s getting tricky to turn a profit from today. (Don’t worry, we’re working on a loophole that is even better and will release details very soon.)
